Blizzard Entertainment is finally expanding the entertainment half of its name. On Saturday, at BlizzCon 2026’s opening ceremony, Blizzard president Johanna Faries announced that the company is teaming up with Netflix to bring the world of Diablo to streaming. A new animated series set in the world of Blizzard’s demon-slaying franchise is coming to Netflix.

Blizzard has plans to adapt more of its franchises, Faries teased.

The Diablo animated series is only the beginning. Faries hinted that projects based on Overwatch and Warcraft are also in the works, though it remains too early to reveal which partners and forms those adaptations will take.

Plans for a Diablo series on Netflix were first revealed more than six years ago, when former Activision Blizzard Studios president and COO Nick van Dyk revealed shows based on Diablo and Overwatch were in development. Earlier this year, audiences saw a Diablo 4-themed animation with the release of a new music video for the band Korn to promote the release of Blizzard’s Lord of Hatred expansion.
