During State of Play Japan on November 11, 2025, Arc System Works unveiled a new iteration of the side‑scrolling roguelike set in the BlazBlue universe. Originally released as a PC exclusive in February 2024, the title returns in an expanded form under the name BlazBlue Entropy Effect X.

The X edition introduces an original narrative that brings Naoto Kurogane back into the spotlight. The publisher provided the following synopsis:

Within a secretive facility dubbed “the Lab,” a team of top researchers scrambles to avert a reality-wide collapse. Despite their efforts, Dr. Mercurius warns the world remains on the brink of ruin. To stop the impending disaster, the protagonist—codenamed Ace—dives into the Sea of Possibility seeking the scattered Shards of Possibility. As Ace descends, a flood of memories returns, and the true nature of the world’s decay — and the experiments themselves — slowly comes to light.

Gameplay in Entropy Effect is brisk and combat-focused: you play as Ace and fight through shifting dimensions to prevent annihilation. The game features a 14-character roster drawn from the broader BlazBlue cast, each with distinct abilities and move sets. Characters can adopt one another’s styles, letting players combine skills and craft personalized, high-speed combo chains that echo the rhythm of the mainline fighting series.
