The long-standing anticipation has finally culminated in the release of BLACKPINK’s latest mini-album, Deadline.
This project marks the first collective musical offering from Lisa, Rosé, Jennie, and Jisoo in four years, following their historic run with Born Pink, which dominated the Billboard 200 at the No. 1 spot. The Deadline tracklist features five distinct songs, anchored by the lead single “Jump”—a summer hit that peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100—alongside fresh tracks “Go,” “Me and My,” “Champion,” and “Fxxxboy.”
For the group’s global fanbase, affectionately known as BLINKs, this reunion is a momentous occasion. Although the quartet embarked on an extensive stadium tour last year, much of their recent history has been defined by individual artistic exploration. Lisa, Rosé, and Jennie each made their mark with debut solo albums—Alter Ego, Rosie, and Ruby—while Jisoo showcased her versatility through the EP Amortage.
The members have also significantly expanded their creative reach into the cinematic world. Lisa is poised for her debut in the upcoming season of The White Lotus, Jennie garnered attention for her role in The Idol, and Jisoo is set to take center stage as the lead in the Netflix series Boyfriend on Demand.
Despite their solo triumphs, the members have frequently expressed a deep-seated desire to return to their roots as a unit. In a January 2025 cover story for Billboard, Jennie shared her excitement regarding their comeback: “I’ve truly missed the camaraderie of touring and our shared silly moments. We’ve each taken our own unique path during this hiatus, and bringing those experiences back to the group is exhilarating. I believe fans are about to see the most formidable and empowered version of ourselves yet.”
