BioWare Ignores Dragon Age Day After Troubled Launch of The Veilguard; Original Creator Congratulates Fans

David Gaider hasn’t forgotten the franchise he spent many years working on.

In November fans observed N7 Day (Mass Effect), and in early December it was time for fans of the Dragon Age franchise to celebrate.

However, BioWare overlooked the series’ 16th anniversary — there were no celebratory posts on the franchise’s official accounts.

But Dragon Age creator David Gaider didn’t let the occasion pass unnoticed; he reached out to fans on social media — offering congratulations and showing off a new tattoo:

Thanks to Elie Young, I finally went for it on my birthday. There’s that small series I once contributed to — it will always remain something wonderful that I had the chance to work on, no matter how long I step away from it. So: happy Dragon Age Day to everyone.

The most recent installment in the franchise was Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The title attracted significant attention and received praise from some, while online critics took issue with various “progressive” elements in its story and design.
