Benson Boone recently spoke about a surprise backstage encounter with a fan in a venue bathroom, which occurred approximately two and a half years ago.

During an appearance on the Thursday, Oct. 1 episode of Life Uncut, hosts Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne asked Boone to share his most embarrassing moment. He recalled that the incident took place on the opening night of the last amphitheater run he completed before transitioning to playing arenas, corresponding to his 2024–2025 Fireworks & Rollerblades World Tour.

“It was the first show of the tour,” Boone said. “Backstage, I didn’t have a bathroom, for some reason. The bathroom that I had was shared with the audience bathroom, so anyone in the audience could be in the bathroom I was in, and I didn’t know that.”

The Washington native explained that he is close with his guy friends, some of whom joined him in the restroom that day. He described a running joke from their high school days involving how they use public urinals.

“Well, we do a thing where we just fully take off our pants, and we’re standing there with a shirt on but no bottoms,” he said. “You have to take your pants all the way off and get them all the way back up before somebody outside comes back in.”

On this occasion, Boone did not realize unfamiliar people could access the restroom and failed to pull his pants up in time.

“Someone walks in, and I didn’t look, because I assumed it’d be one of my mates,” the musician said. “It wasn’t. It was a fan coming to the show, and he just stopped. I heard the gasp, and that’s when I turned, and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh.’”

Boone noted that the fan was understanding, and they had a pleasant interaction after the initial shock, though he added that the situation was very awkward and horrifying.

Boone no longer shares crowd restrooms at his concerts. His 2025–2026 American Heart World Tour and his ongoing Wanted Man Tour both consist of arena dates. Both treks supported his 2025 album, American Heart, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
