Hello everyone,

Since the rollout of the Blastpoint Update, we have been thrilled to watch the community dive into the new content and embrace the fresh wave of chaos within Battlefield 6. From the revival of Obliteration to the high-stakes battles across Cairo Bazaar, the update has sparked countless memorable moments and provided our team with invaluable insights. We are committed to refining the experience, with significant adjustments to gunplay, vehicle combat, and more arriving in the final leg of Season 3 on June 30.

Gameplay Enhancements

Gunplay Refinements

In our upcoming update, we are implementing a comprehensive overhaul of weapon mechanics to ensure infantry combat feels more intuitive, consistent, and rewarding for high-skill players. We are fine-tuning variables such as recoil patterns, bullet dispersion, weapon handling, limb-damage multipliers, velocity, and drag. Our primary goal is to better reward precision, trigger discipline, and intimate knowledge of your loadout.

We are also prioritizing soldier visibility and netcode stability to create a smoother, more readable battlefield. We will release a detailed developer breakdown shortly, which will outline our design philosophy and explain exactly how these changes will evolve the rhythm of combat.

Vehicle Balancing

We are adjusting the vehicle meta to improve the synergy—and counter-play—between armor, aircraft, anti-air units, and infantry. Thermal Smoke will now be less effective as a damage-mitigation tool and will no longer automatically clear C4. Furthermore, we are slightly buffing RPG damage against tanks and helicopters to give infantry squads a more reliable way to challenge armored threats.

The update also includes adjustments to IFV weaponry, Attack Helicopter rockets, and Mobile Anti-Air capacity. Additionally, we are curbing “spawn-camping” by restricting the automated Anti-Air stations: they will now target fewer projectile types and will no longer retaliate against those attacking land vehicles. Retaliation logic will now time out after 20 seconds, preventing indefinite aggression.

UI & Front-End Optimization

“Mark All Seen” Functionality
Following up on feedback regarding persistent “New” markers, we are introducing a “Mark All Seen” button across several key interfaces. This will allow you to instantly clear notifications in your Loadouts, Battle Pass, Store, Profile, Challenges, and Play menus.

New Event Hub
Launching alongside the “Wet Work” event, this centralized menu aggregates your event-specific challenges, rewards, and store bundles. Our objective is to reduce navigation friction and provide a clearer overview of active limited-time content.

XP Booster Improvements
XP Boosters now provide partial value for Match Bonus XP even if they expire mid-game. The multiplier will be scaled based on the duration the booster was active during the match, ensuring your hard-earned time investment is always recognized.

New Content

Tactical Obliteration

Following the positive reception of the standard Obliteration mode, we are introducing “Tactical Obliteration”—a lean, infantry-focused variation. This mode keeps the intense, objective-driven spirit of the original but tightens the gameplay loop to emphasize squad coordination, flanking maneuvers, and tactical M-COM defense. With no vehicles and smaller, focused layouts, every squad maneuver counts.

Wet Work Event

Season 3’s “High-Value Target” update brings the Wet Work event, introducing a contract-driven layer to both Multiplayer and REDSEC. Keep an eye out for contracts dropped by fallen enemies; completing these mid-match objectives—ranging from securing loot to eliminating high-priority targets—will be the key to your success.

REDSEC

Casual Battle Royale

For those looking for a more relaxed pace, we are launching “Casual Battle Royale.” Featuring a mix of bots to assist with pacing and environmental flow, this mode is the perfect environment for learning new classes or warming up without the high-stakes pressure of a traditional lobby.

Loot & Progression

To combat mid-game scarcity, Armory Crates will now “respawn” their loot pools after Second Chance is disabled, allowing you to rearm during the closing stages of a match. Additionally, we’re adding the “Disruptor” Recon path, featuring the Hardware Suppression System and Handheld Jammer—two powerful tools designed to deny enemy intel and disable enemy electronics.

Ranked Updates

The current Ranked Battle Royale season concludes on July 14. Your final standing will influence your starting placement for Season 4 and dictate your end-of-season rewards. We will share a follow-up post regarding the transition period soon.

Portal

We are expanding the Portal toolset with powerful new capabilities, including support for custom “Cairo Bazaar” experiences and the return of classic modes like Obliteration and Squad Deathmatch. Creators will also benefit from the new Moving Platform system, which eliminates jitter for complex navigation puzzles, and Vehicle Impulse, which allows for creative, physics-based triggers via our scripting tools. Finally, Bellum1988’s stunning rendition of “Operation Metro” is coming to the official map rotation, complete with high-fidelity baked lighting.

Looking Ahead

Recent adjustments to experiences like “Eastwood Escalation” have yielded great results, and we are grateful for your ongoing feedback. Battlefield is a collaborative project, and your voice is essential in shaping its future. Please continue sharing your thoughts on our EA Forums and join the conversation on the Battlefield Discord.

See you on the battlefield,
