Baldur’s Gate 3 Creator Pleased with Game of the Year Nominees at The Game Awards 2025
Swen Vincke hasn’t finished every title yet, but he believes they all merit the nomination.
A list of nominees for various categories at The Game Awards 2025 — including Game of the Year — recently appeared online. The creator of Baldur’s Gate 3 reviewed it and offered his perspective.
Vincke responded positively — he feels that each developer on the list demonstrates a distinct philosophy toward making games:
This demonstrates that our industry still values games made with soul that entertain — no matter the budget or who makes them.
He also mentioned that he’s completed only four of the six Game of the Year nominees so far, but is confident the remaining two earned their places.
