Avengers: Doomsday is set to premiere in theaters on Dec. 18, 2026. Because Disney announced this as the official release date, fans in regions such as the UK were surprised to see local Doomsday showtimes listed for Dec. 16.

It will premiere on a Wednesday rather than a Friday, so those planning to see it day one must rethink their plans for the week. If there are midnight screenings, moviegoers in the UK could see the credits roll while it is still Tuesday in parts of the United States.

It is common practice for Marvel Cinematic Universe movies to debut in the UK a few days ahead of the United States, so some fans expected this schedule. Even for viewers outside the UK, the change affects ticket planning and online habits. Until Dec. 18, fans in the US face a much harder time dodging spoilers from fellow Marvel aficionados across the ocean.

Given the dedication of MCU fans, long-haul trips from the United States to the United Kingdom might spike that week. However, securing tickets will not be easy given the high anticipation.
