AI tools assist the company’s staff.
Activision didn’t try to dodge the allegations that it used artificial intelligence during work on Black Ops 7.
In an electronic statement shared with Insider Gaming and Xbox Era, an Activision representative said the studios employ “a range of digital tools, including AI” to “support teams in crafting the best gaming experiences for players.”
Like many around the world, we use a variety of digital tools, including AI, to strengthen and support our teams as they build the best experiences for players. Our creative process continues to be guided by the talented professionals across our studios.
The controversy flared up right after launch: fans pointed to Studio Ghibli–style cards that appeared suspiciously like typical generative-AI artifacts — featuring blurred details and a uniform, repetitive aesthetic.
