The anticipation surrounding Ariana Grande’s upcoming album, Petal, has reached a fever pitch. In a creative twist that has captivated her fanbase, the pop icon has begun unveiling the record’s tracklist piece by piece during her ongoing Eternal Sunshine Tour.
During her second performance at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Sunday (June 14), eagle-eyed fans noticed a cryptic countdown displayed on the stage’s signature circular screen. As the timer hit the three-minute mark, the visuals “glitched” to reveal the text, “3. petal,” confirming that the album’s third track serves as its title piece.
This innovative rollout strategy confirms theories that emerged just a day prior. During her first Los Angeles show on Saturday, the same screen briefly flashed “1. kiss me” as the countdown reached its final minute—a moment Grande later verified by sharing a clip on her social media channels.
With her lead single, “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” already dominating the charts—debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and occupying the second slot on the Petal tracklist—the sequence for the album’s opening trio is now clear: “Kiss Me,” “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” and “Petal.”
As the tour continues, fans are eagerly looking ahead to upcoming dates, including her stint at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, where further song titles may be unveiled. With 12 tracks in total, nine remain a mystery.
While the full tracklist remains under wraps until the official July 31 release, the Grammy-winning artist has offered a glimpse into the album’s tone. Describing Petal as “a little feral,” Grande hinted that the project explores uncharted emotional territory, tapping into a raw, unfiltered vulnerability she hasn’t previously shared with her audience.
The Eternal Sunshine Tour is currently in full swing, with upcoming performances spanning across the U.S. and Canada before culminating in a grand finale—a 10-show residency at London’s O2 Arena concluding on September 1.
