Elton John to perform surprise show to open London Apple Music Hall as opening season lineup is announced

Sir Elton John, Charli xcx, Burna Boy, and Troye Sivan are among the acts scheduled to perform during the opening season of Apple Music Hall in London.

The 600-capacity venue located at Battersea Power Station opens on Monday (Sept. 28) with a performance by John. Tickets go on sale that same day at 9 a.m. U.K. time on the venue’s official website.

Baby Keem, Skye Newman, Arlo Parks, and Chase & Status will also join the initial run of performances before the conclusion of 2026. The full schedule of show dates is detailed below.

John’s appearance marks his first public U.K. performance in more than three years, following the conclusion of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour at the Glastonbury Festival in June 2023. John has performed live on a sporadic basis since then, most recently appearing at Brazil’s Rock in Rio festival on Sept. 7.

John previously performed at the London landmark in 2014 during a private concert celebrating the building’s residential and commercial redevelopment. On Tuesday, Apple revealed its new facility, which includes a 48-speaker spatial audio system and a customizable 38-foot-wide stage.

The space also features two dedicated recording and mix studios along with a purpose-built broadcast control room hardwired for 16 or more cameras, allowing artists to capture multiple content formats during their shows.

The technology company officially opened its London headquarters at the Battersea site in 2022. That renovated area houses studios utilized by London-based hosts of Apple Music Radio.

Apple has partnered with U.K. promoter Communion ONE to assist with bookings and promotion at Apple Music Hall. Mazin Tappuni, a managing director at Communion ONE, stated, “Apple Music Hall is a fantastic venue, like nothing fans will have ever seen before. The production quality is world class, livestreaming to fans across the world, from a live room where every square foot has the artist and their fans in mind.”
