e.l.f. Cosmetics, a brand from e.l.f. Beauty (NYSE: ELF), is releasing Mirror Mix, its second original music compilation album, featuring seven rising artists across pop, R&B, Latin music and rock, Billboard exclusively announced Friday (Sept. 25). The project brings beauty and music together to champion the next generation of breakthrough artists, in true e.l.f. style.
The new album includes Joaquina, the Latin Grammy-winning Venezuelan singer/songwriter and e.l.f.’s newest ambassador, with the Spanish song “Ya No Estoy”; Grammy-winning independent artist Mamii, with “Transitions”; and WNBA basketball star, rapper, businesswoman and philanthropist Flau’jae Johnson with “What Can’t I Do.”
“Being able to release this song in partnership with e.l.f. literally feels like a dream come true, especially because makeup has been part of my life and a form of self-expression since I was a teenager,” Joaquina told Billboard. “I think it all comes together in such a beautiful way. The song is about learning to be alone, to love myself and not to dim my light for anyone, while makeup has always been a way for me to discover myself, express myself and feel like myself.”
The set also includes rocker Brasko with “Look Don’t Touch”; pop-rock trio Hello Sister, comprised of sisters Grace, Gabriella and Scarlett Mason, with “Girlhood Is Forever”; Colombian-Dominican singer and songwriter NEZZA, whose breakthrough moment came in summer 2025 when she performed the national anthem in Spanish at a Los Angeles Dodgers game, with the song “Bésame”; and power vocalist Sadie Rose Van, with “Kiss.”
“Building on e.l.f.’s debut album, we were determined to level up the spotlight our namesake could provide to rising artists through e.l.f. Made, our entertainment arm. In doing so, we felt strongly that the artists’ voices should speak for themselves and let the music carry the brand story rather than imposing creative constraints,” said Patrick O’Keefe, chief integrated marketing officer at e.l.f. Brands. “At its core, this is about democratizing access – passing the mic to give the next generation of artists a real platform for self-expression. The result is Mirror Mix, an incredibly eclectic group of inspiring artists that are a representation of where we are today in music and culture and what speaks directly to every eye, lip and face in our community.”
Mirror Mix continues e.l.f.’s commitment to empowering the next generation of artists through e.l.f. Made, its entertainment arm, built to disrupt the norms of the entertainment industry through music, entertainment, sports and gaming. “e.l.f. is driven to democratize access to dreams for these talents, who are underserved in the music industry,” the company stated in a press release, noting that 1 in 3 independent artists not backed by a label report challenges with lack of exposure and getting their music heard, 78% of independent artists earned less than $15,000 from their music in a year, only 13% live solely off earnings from their music, 82% of independent artists cannot afford to tour, and 87.5% of those aged 18 to 24 find it completely unaffordable.
To celebrate the album release, e.l.f. teamed up with Genius to create its Open Mic content series for a live audience on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Open Mic brings viewers intimate, stripped-back performances from global stars and rising talent.
“Open Mic has always been about helping fans discover artists and connect more deeply with the music they love, whether it’s a rising star or a household name,” said Rob Markman, VP of music & content at Genius, in a statement. “We’re excited to bring e.l.f.’s Mirror Mix to a live stage, giving these seven talented artists an opportunity to reach new fans and grow their community.”
The album launches across major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music, with the tracks also available in e.l.f. UP! on Roblox. e.l.f. is expanding the possibilities for talent to reach new audiences and for fans to discover their next favorite voice by meeting its community across live events, streaming, gaming and social platforms.
Mirror Mix was executive produced by Michelle Bell, founder of Geo Massive and a brand partnerships and entertainment executive. Bell brought in artists, writers and engineers for three days to create e.l.f.ing magic.
