Studio Khara has officially released its anniversary short film to the public following a series of online leaks.
Studio Khara has made its special “Evangelion” anniversary short film available for free viewing. The fifteen-minute feature was uploaded to the studio’s official YouTube channel on March 8th, coinciding with the fifth anniversary of the theatrical premiere of Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time.
Initially, the short film was intended to be an exclusive screening for attendees of the “EVANGELION:30+” event, a celebration of the franchise’s 30th anniversary held from February 21 to 23.
Although the footage was meant to remain a festival exclusive, unauthorized recordings taken on mobile devices quickly began circulating across social media platforms. After an initial attempt to strike down these leaks, the studio decided to pivot and provide fans with a high-quality official version of the film instead.
