RibCage Games released a new gameplay trailer for Alpha Nomos, a rhythm-action roguelite where combat follows the beat. The updated demo is available during Steam Next Fest from June 15 to June 22.

The game follows Cello, a small puppet adventurer fighting through a ruined world of corrupted toys and broken music. Instruments work as weapons, and attacks become stronger when the player keeps time with the rhythm.

The new trailer shows refined combat, expanded power-up evolutions and the way musical effects change a run. Reverb, Flanger, Delay and other audio effects are not only cosmetic: each one alters how attacks feel and how the soundtrack reacts.

Music as the combat system

  • rhythm-driven attacks and combos
  • live-recorded instruments used as weapons
  • wrong notes for off-beat hits
  • roguelite runs that change the sound of each build
  • handcrafted locations, including abandoned circuses and music-reactive environments

RibCage Games says the studio wanted rhythm to be the action itself, not a layer added on top of combat. Alpha Nomos is planned for Q3 2026.
