Super Mario Sunshine Joins Nintendo Switch Online GameCube Library Next Month

The beloved GameCube classic Super Mario Sunshine is officially heading to the Nintendo Switch Online service. Set to launch on August 13, the iconic 2002 platformer will soon be accessible to modern audiences.

Originally released on the GameCube, the adventure whisks Mario, Princess Peach, and their companions away to the sun-drenched paradise of Isle Delfino. However, tranquility is short-lived when a malicious doppelgänger known as Shadow Mario frames our hero by vandalizing the resort town and kidnapping the Princess. To clear his name and rescue Peach, Mario joins forces with F.L.U.D.D., a sentient, water-propelling contraption. By utilizing the jetpack to hover across environments and scour away stubborn sludge, players experienced a refreshing yet divisive twist on traditional three-dimensional platforming. Notably, this sun-soaked escapade also marked the historic debut of Bowser Jr.
