After Helldivers 2’s Xbox success, players demand a Switch 2 version — studio responds
After a strong debut on Xbox — which noticeably boosted sales and online activity across all platforms — players began speculating about Helldivers 2 arriving on yet another system. Fans are asking whether the game will also come to the Switch 2.
In a recent episode of the Game Business Show, host Christopher Dring jokingly said he’s expecting a release on Nintendo’s new console. Arrowhead’s CEO, Shams Djorjani, replied with a brief line:
We’ll see, we’ll see. That’s a question several levels above my pay grade.
That kind of answer is typically read as an indication the subject is under discussion, but no one is ready to disclose details.
The Xbox port delivered excellent results. It demonstrates that launching on multiple platforms brings a substantial influx of new players.
But the main question remains: can the Switch 2 handle the game’s frantic pace, where space battles and explosions occur every second? The team is currently focused on optimization, shrinking install sizes, and reducing load times, so the studio has plenty of work ahead.
