This past autumn, while Adult Swim’s cult phenomenon Smiling Friends returned for a chaotic third season, the network simultaneously debuted a project with a strikingly different temperament. Haha, You Clowns arrived as a gentle, oddly comforting experience—evoking the serene atmosphere of Joe Pera Talks with You through a surreal animated lens. On December 18, Adult Swim confirmed a massive double-season renewal for Haha, You Clowns, granting creator Joe Cappa an expansive horizon to further explore the lives of the Campbell family. The series centers on three exceptionally polite teenage brothers and their widowed father, a wholesome quartet remarkably voiced entirely by Cappa himself.

“I am profoundly thankful to the audience who embraced Haha, You Clowns and championed it,” Cappa noted in a formal statement. “The opportunity to spend more time in the Campbell household is something I’m incredibly excited about.”

Adult Swim President Michael Ouweleen echoed this sentiment, characterizing the series as “radically heartfelt and strangely uncanny.” He credited the show’s swift success to a grassroots fan base that amplified its offbeat allure across social platforms. “Your support allowed us to greenlight not just one, but two additional seasons,” Ouweleen remarked, concluding with a nod to the show’s signature mantra: “You are strong!
