Activision Starts Selling Interfaces in Black Ops 7 — Players More Surprised It Took Them This Long
Many Call of Duty fans have already resigned themselves to monetization more akin to mobile games.
Players have noticed that Season One of Black Ops 7 will introduce a new customizable interface usable in both Multiplayer and Zombies modes. Unfortunately for many, that interface will be restricted to owners of the premium Battle Pass, priced at $30 — nearly half the cost of Black Ops 7 itself.
YouTuber PrestigeIsKey published a video on the subject, breaking down the situation from a financial perspective. He argues that players should have expected Activision to monetize even UI design elements in the new shooter ever since the developers first mentioned the option to customize the interface’s appearance.
