The AMD FX-9590 processor, launched more than a decade ago, demonstrated it can run Battlefield 6 at medium settings, delivering around 30–40 FPS at 1080p when paired with an 8 GB Radeon RX 5700. YouTuber “Fully Buffered” conducted the experiment, testing vintage CPUs on the new title and comparing the FX-9590 with an Intel Core i7-2600K.
The Intel chip failed to launch Battlefield 6 due to a lack of Secure Boot support, whereas the FX-9590 started the game without issues. This indicates the game can be reasonably well-optimized for older hardware and that its minimum requirements are modest. TPM 2.0 support is not required to run the game, but Secure Boot is critical.
The FX-9590 combined with the Radeon RX 5700 held an average frame rate of about 35 FPS, occasionally rising above 40 FPS at 1080p. The CPU reached up to 98% utilization at 4.65 GHz, which is an impressive result for such an aged processor.
