Yes Boone Makes Progress on Debut Album After Signing With Major Label

DJ and producer Yes Boone has signed a record deal with Warner Music and Warner Records US, landing a major label home and a debut album in the works ahead of a breakthrough artist nomination at the 2026 AIR Awards in Adelaide.

Folk Bitch Trio won the breakthrough artist category at the event.

Now based in Sydney, the electronic music creator released “Nosebleeds” as his first release through the partnership. He wrote the track during a stint in London and Paris, basing the theme on the infatuation and uncertainty of a relationship’s honeymoon period. The title nods to the South Australian hip-hop trio Hilltop Hoods and their 2003 song “The Nosebleed Section.”

The artist premiered the track last month during a surprise set at WMA’s annual Listen Up Showcase.

Dan Rosen, president of Warner Music Australasia and Southeast Asia, told the industry gathering that the music company plans to take the new signing to the world.

Yes Boone took notes and inspiration from a recent first trip to Europe, where he collaborated with several electronic music producers. “I was a little awestruck at first,” he said of a writing trip in France, which helped shape the direction of his debut artist album. The upcoming LP incorporates elements of French house, British post-punk energy, and a timeless sound, he told Billboard over Zoom.

Yes Boone released his debut 2025 EP Best I’ve Found and the club track “All I Really Want,” which entered ARIA’s Top 20 Australian Singles Chart and reached No. 9 on AIR’s Independent Singles Chart.

“Nosebleeds” features Yes Boone’s own vocals, and listeners can expect more of his vocals on his debut LP, which does not yet have a release date. “I’m definitely becoming more comfortable with it,” he said of singing. “It took a little while to find my voice, to sing on my own tracks, and to put my own words to the music for the first time.” He also edited the official video, which was shot and directed by Have You Stopped Growing?

Yes Boone is scheduled to perform at the Yours & Owls Festival in Wollongong on Oct. 4, followed by appearances on the Split Milk festival lineup in Canberra on Dec. 12, Gold Coast on Dec. 13, Geelong on Dec. 19, and Perth on Dec. 20.

He is part of an Australian electronic and dance music community that includes Dom Dolla, Confidence Man, VASSY, Ninajirachi, Alison Wonderland, FISHER, and labelmates RÜFÜS DU SOL.

Building a connection to the United States remains a priority, with an invitation to a writing camp in the U.S. in the coming months potentially setting the stage for future visits. “Next year I hope to get out there and start playing some shows,” he said. “It’s quite exciting.”
