Yakuza Creator Toshihiro Nagoshi Reveals New Game, Gang of Dragon

Toshihiro Nagoshi, the creative visionary behind the Yakuza franchise and co-founder of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, embarked on a fresh chapter in 2021 by establishing Nagoshi Studio. During this year’s Game Awards, host Geoff Keighley unveiled the first look at what the legendary director has been crafting: a gritty new title titled Gang of Dragon.
While the specific gameplay mechanics and genre remain under wraps, the debut footage radiates the unmistakable energy of the Like a Dragon series. The trailer showcases a formidable protagonist—sporting a signature wide-collared suit and a heavy gold chain—casually dismantling a group of extortionists during a bar room brawl. For fans of Kazuma Kiryu, the aesthetic and hard-hitting tone will feel remarkably familiar.
Although Gang of Dragon is reportedly well into its development cycle, Nagoshi Studio has yet to announce a formal launch window or confirmed platforms.
