Apple TV has officially greenlit a second season of the series Widows Bay, according to reports.
The horror-comedy premiered on the streaming platform this past April, starring Matthew Rhys (known for The Americans and The Beast Within) in the lead role.
The story unfolds in the secluded island town of Widows Bay, where local mayor Tom Loftis (Rhys) is determined to transform his quiet community into a bustling tourist destination. However, his plans are soon derailed by a string of unsettling and mysterious occurrences.
The show was created by Katie Dippold (The Heat), with directorial contributions from talents such as Hiro Murai (The Bear) and Ti West (Pearl). The ten-episode first season earned widespread acclaim from critics, currently holding a 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
