Weta Workshop to Open Pre-orders for New “The Lord of the Rings” Gollum Collectible on July 3rd
Tolkien fans and collectors can soon purchase a limited-edition model of Weathertop from Weta Workshop. This new version depicts the site where the Nazgûl attacked the hobbits, featuring a larger scale and integrated LED lighting compared to previous releases.
A countdown on the official Weta Workshop website indicates that pre-orders open at midnight Moscow time on July 3, 2026. The piece recreates the location known as Amon Sûl.
Artists reconstructed the ancient watchtower by referencing original film production designs and sketches. They carefully added cracks and fallen stones to ensure the ruins appear authentic. The team blended this digital Numenorean architecture with hand-sculpted terrain to form the hill. A small stone cave sits in the hillside, glowing with a soft light that mimics a flickering campfire.
Dark, dusky colors define the paint scheme, capturing the tension of the night the hobbits faced the Nazgûl. Charlotte Key designed the architectural elements digitally, while Sean Bolton and Shanti Costar sculpted the surrounding landscape by hand.
This polystone model stands 19 cm tall, 42 cm wide, and 28.5 cm deep. It weighs nearly 6 kg. Weta Workshop plans to release the item in the first quarter of 2027.
