Players Launch Petition Hoping to Save Mass Effect 5
Mass Effect fans have launched a petition asking Electronic Arts to reconsider its decision to cancel a new game and to protect the future of the sci-fi series after the closure of BioWare.
Players do not want to accept the disappearance of one of the best-known RPG franchises. The petition aims to preserve a universe that has gathered millions of fans over the years.
The petition’s authors pointed to Commander Shepard’s adventures, the crew of the Normandy, relationships with squadmates, and choices that shaped the story. In their view, these elements made Mass Effect special for many players.
Fans offer EA two options. The first is to resume development and give the project enough budget, team, and time. The second is to hand the license to another studio that would continue the series.

The campaign’s chances of success remain uncertain. BioWare has suffered serious financial setbacks, and based on its recent decisions, EA appears no longer willing to invest in the studio.
Fans can sign the petition through the link in the original report.
