Fatekeeper Becomes a Steam Hit With 500,000 Sales From a 13-Person Team
Fatekeeper, a first-person fantasy RPG from the small studio Paraglacial and publisher THQ Nordic, has sold more than 500,000 copies on Steam. The game is still in Early Access.
Only 13 developers work on Fatekeeper. The game lets players explore the ruins of ancient civilizations, disaster sites, and dangerous corners of a fantasy world. Players fight monsters and find relics, gear, and spells to develop their character.
Combat combines melee weapons and magic. Enemies differ in their attacks, strengths, and weaknesses, so players have to change tactics. Players can build up physical strength, speed, and accuracy, or focus on magical abilities instead.
The world of Fatekeeper includes ancient battlefields, underground caves, forests, and ruined shrines. The story leads players along a set path, while the locations also encourage them to look for secrets on their own.
The developers thanked the community for its interest, feedback, and help in shaping the game. According to the team, player feedback helps them improve the project.
