Watch Katy Perry Hilariously Bites Into a Cardboard Cake She Mistook for the Real Thing — “Agh, F—k”

Cakes are meant to be soft and moist — but sometimes you get the exact opposite: a dry, cardboard-like surprise. In a playful clip Katy Perry shared to Instagram on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, the pop star discovers that a colorful microphone prop is decidedly not edible.

Filmed in Shanghai, where Perry is currently performing, the video shows her seated beside a whimsical microphone sculpture adorned with striped butterfly wings. “Hi, I’m in Shanghai, and welcome to my episode of ‘Is this cardboard, or is this cake?’” she announces before chomping into the prop.

After taking a large bite, Perry grimaces and immediately spits it out. “Agh, f—k,” she exclaims, before confirming, “It’s cardboard.”

Perry is in Shanghai for three shows at the Mercedes‑Benz Arena as part of her Lifetimes Tour. The North American and international trek wraps up soon — the final scheduled stop is Dec. 7, 2025, in Abu Dhabi.

Earlier this month, on Nov. 11, Perry unveiled a new butterfly tattoo to commemorate the tour, which launched in April following the release of her album 143. She posted at the time, “Can’t believe it’s already time for The Lifetimes Tour tattoos,” adding, “Only 8 shows left…”

Beyond touring, Perry has been releasing new music and making headlines offstage: she released the single “bandaids” on Nov. 7, 2025, and in October she was photographed with former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau in Paris, drawing attention to their public outings.
