Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 Won’t Arrive Soon — Developer Reveals Estimated Production Timeline

Saber Interactive announced a few months ago that work on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine III is already underway. One might expect the studio to reuse existing groundwork and speed up development so fans would get new content sooner, but that isn’t their approach.

In an interview with Warhammer TV, creative director Oliver Hollis-Lake stressed that although the team has begun building the new entry, they have no intention of rushing. The studio doesn’t want to abruptly end support for the 2024 hit, which continues to expand. According to him, Space Marine 2 took four years to produce — and the third will require a similar timeframe to complete.

He explained that projects of this scale demand lengthy development cycles. Space Marine 3 will be no exception.

Hollis-Lake added that announcing the trilogy’s third installment six months after the second’s release doesn’t mean there aren’t plans to continue supporting Space Marine 2. The studio simply wanted to reassure the community that the series won’t be neglected for years following its success.

We announced this to, on the one hand, let people know we’ll keep working on the game and that more will be coming soon. We’re taking the same approach with DLC — much is already made, and there’s still a great deal ahead. They definitely do not compete for resources.
