Warhammer 40,000 Custodes Support Battle Group Pre-Orders Open August 29

Games Workshop has detailed a new wave of tabletop releases scheduled for pre-order on August 29, 2026, ahead of an in-store launch on September 12, 2026. The upcoming lineup includes releases for Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer: The Horus Heresy, and Warhammer: The Old World, alongside a new Black Library novel.

For players of Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer: The Horus Heresy, the company is introducing the Custodes Support Battleforce box.

The set contains four Gyrfalcon Jetbikes, a Pallas Grav-attack craft, and a Telemon Heavy Dreadnought. Alongside the models, Games Workshop will release the softcover campaign supplement “The Burning of Prospero: Valdor’s Verdict.” The book provides background lore on the assault on Tizca and the Thousand Sons’ defense, along with new scenarios, gameplay rules, unit profiles, and a full Daemons of Tzeentch army list.

A themed Custodes dice set will also be available, containing 19 six-sided dice featuring the Legio Custodes icon on the six face, as well as a scatter die. For Warhammer: The Old World, the studio is introducing five new boxed sets tailored for “Battle March,” a fast-play game format designed for 400 to 750-point armies.

The Empire of Man set includes a commander with a great weapon, 20 State Troops, 10 Flagellants, 10 ranged infantry equipped with crossbows or handguns, 10 Archers, and 5 mounted troops that can be built as Outriders or Pistoliers. The Beastmen Brayherds box provides a Beastlord, a Bray-Shaman, 10 Ungors, 10 Bestigors, 20 Gors, and 10 Chaos Warhounds.

The Orc and Goblin Tribes box features an Orc Boss on a war boar, a Goblin Shaman, an Orc Battle Standard Bearer, 15 Orc Boyz, 5 Goblin Wolf Riders, 5 Orc Boar Boyz, and an Orc Boar Chariot. The High Elf Realms box includes a Lothern Sea Helm, 10 Lothern Sea Guard, 5 Shadow Warriors that can alternatively be built as Sisters of Avelorn, 5 Ellyrian Reavers, a Lothern Skycutter, and a Tiranoc Chariot.

The Wood Elf Realms box supplies Araloth the Bold – Lord of Talsyn, 10 Eternal Guard, 5 Sisters of the Thorn, 4 Glade Riders, and 8 Glade Guard. In addition to miniatures, Black Library is releasing the novel “Raldoron: The Revenant” by Guy Haley.

The book will arrive in a standard hardback format as well as a signed special edition. The collector’s version features red foil embossing on the cover and spine, a cloth ribbon bookmark, and custom finishing details.
