Ghost of Yotei Nearly Matches Ghost of Tsushima in Revenue Despite Fewer Copies Sold

Ghost of Yotei has generated an estimated $407 million in revenue, according to Alinea Analytics. That nearly matches Ghost of Tsushima at a comparable point in its sales, even though the first game sold noticeably more copies.

About 5.4 million people have bought Ghost of Yotei, compared with almost 7 million for its predecessor. The original Ghost of Tsushima earned $418 million, roughly 3% more.

The gap is explained by pricing. Ghost of Yotei launched at $70 and has received only two discounts so far. Ghost of Tsushima launched at $60 and dropped to $45 in less than three months. As a result, revenue per buyer for the new game is about 26% higher.

The console audience also differs. At a comparable stage of sales, Ghost of Tsushima had a market of about 117 million PS4 consoles and 10 million PS5 consoles. Ghost of Yotei is available only on PS5, whose sales have approached 100 million.

In 2026, the new game attracted another 1.8 million buyers and brought in $121 million. Its revenue growth is slowing faster than that of its predecessor. Even so, the game continues to sell well despite few discounts and a crowded release calendar.
