Update 1.61: Improved Material System

We are thrilled to bring an exciting visual upgrade to our dedicated community! With the arrival of the upcoming 1.61 update, our next-generation material rendering system is expanding to encompass three additional trucks across our fleet.

First deployed in update 1.60, this state-of-the-art graphical pipeline initially elevated the cabin fidelity of the DAF NGD and MAN TG3 TGX in Euro Truck Simulator 2, alongside the Mack Anthem and Western Star 49X in American Truck Simulator. In the next iteration, we are bringing this photorealistic treatment to both the International LT and International LoneStar in ATS, as well as the prestigious Volvo FH Series 6 in ETS2.

The visual overhaul doesn’t stop at shader improvements. Our vehicle artists have meticulously fine-tuned the interior architecture and completely remodeled the seating for both the International LT and LoneStar to mirror their real-world counterparts with uncompromising accuracy. To complement this makeover, we are also introducing a luxurious new Diamond interior trim option, complete with premium leather seating for both International models.

At its core, the upgraded material system revolutionizes cockpit lighting by realistically simulating how diverse surfaces interact with direct and ambient illumination. The result is a richer, remarkably legible, and deeply immersive driving environment. Subtle distinctions between fine leather, tactile textiles, molded composites, and brushed metallic accents become vividly apparent—even during night hauls and in subdued lighting conditions.

Our commitment remains steadfast: we will continue rolling out this sophisticated visual standard across our entire lineup over time.
