Until Dawn 2 Expected to Feature Ties to Original Game and Return to Blackwood
Until Dawn 2 will feature deep ties to the original game as its characters visit the Blackwood sanatorium and Peter Stormare returns as Dr. Hill.
Following the announcement of Until Dawn 2, many assumed the game would be a standalone story with only loose connections to the first part. The new protagonists, content creators from the Dead True channel, travel to Akishima Island in search of a genuine paranormal nightmare.
However, a fresh trailer from the September State of Play revealed a closer connection to the events of 2015. The game releases on January 28, 2027. The characters head to the abandoned Blackwood sanatorium to film footage about a tragedy that happened there 12 years prior.
This exact location is where the original game explored the history of the wendigo and the deceased miners. The sanatorium also served as the primary setting for The Inpatient.
Peter Stormare’s return in the role of Dr. Hill has also been confirmed. In the first installment, the psychotherapist appeared between chapters during surreal sessions. It remains unknown what role he will play in the new storyline.
