Unofficial Port Brings Forza Horizon 2 to PC in 4K
The racing game Forza Horizon 2 has received an unofficial PC port featuring 4K resolution support, frame rates up to 60 frames per second, and Steam Deck compatibility.
In recent weeks, the creation of fan-made PC ports for console exclusives has accelerated noticeably, partly thanks to AI tools. Following the recent arrival of an enhanced version of Gears of War 3 on computers, the turn has now come to Forza Horizon 2 from the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
The port supports resolutions above 1080p, 30 and 60 frames per second modes, three graphical presets, improved shadows and reflections, MSAA anti-aliasing, and the Steam Deck via Proton. Online features are unavailable. The Azimuth launcher is used to run the game.
The port is currently at version 0.9, and the author continues to fix bugs. At the same time, the game looks surprisingly fresh in 4K resolution with increased graphical settings. The fan project has given the racing game a second life.
