Nintendo Details Switch 2 Battery Replacement Process
Nintendo has released a guide on how to replace the Switch 2 battery yourself, which requires unscrewing the housing and accessing the console’s internal components.
In July, the Japanese company announced plans to release devices with replaceable batteries to comply with European requirements. These changes will also affect the Switch 2, as these versions of the console will be slightly heavier and feature a lower battery capacity.
According to the official Nintendo guide, replacing the battery requires unscrewing the screws around the perimeter of the housing, including near the Joy-Con 2 controller mounts. Once opened, the circuit boards and other internal components become accessible.
Performing repairs yourself carries a risk of damaging the console, so you should study the guide carefully before starting.

Previously, documents from the US Federal Communications Commission hinted that Nintendo might also prepare controllers with replaceable batteries for markets outside Europe.
