Two Nintendo Directs Air Next Week, And One Of Them Celebrates Zelda’s 40th Anniversary
Not to be outdone by PlayStation’s recent consecutive State of Play broadcasts, Nintendo has revealed plans to host two separate Direct presentations next week. The lineup features both a dedicated showcase honoring The Legend of Zelda’s monumental 40th anniversary and a traditional general broadcast.
The announcement debuted via the Nintendo Today application. Kicking things off on Tuesday, September 8, at 7:00 a.m. PT / 10:00 a.m. ET, The Legend of Zelda: 40th Anniversary Direct will air as a 30-minute special. While Nintendo has kept specifics under wraps, enthusiasts can reasonably anticipate long-awaited updates regarding The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake alongside fresh insights into the upcoming live-action Legend of Zelda motion picture.
Immediately following on Wednesday, September 9, at the same morning timeslot, a standard 45-minute Nintendo Direct will take center stage. Speculation is running wild regarding the contents of this broader showcase. Alongside previously confirmed first-party exclusives like Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave—slated for release on September 17—as well as next year’s heavy hitters Xenoblade Genesis and Pokémon Winds and Waves, Nintendo is renowned for dropping major surprise reveals entirely unannounced. Anything is truly possible.
