Two Horrors from BrokenLore
At the State of Play showcase, two horror titles from BrokenLore were revealed and immediately captured the audience’s attention.
The first title — BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW — is a first-person psychological horror that probes the darker side of social media and its effects on the mind. The protagonist, Ann, is a young woman who has endured years of emotional abuse and bullying. She finds herself trapped in a nightmare where the line between sleep and waking life dissolves. To escape, she must confront her past and accept the truths she has tried to bury.
The game explores timely issues — the pressures of online life, dependency on approval, warped self-perception, and the lasting impact of psychological abuse. BrokenLore: UNFOLLOW is scheduled for release on January 16, 2026.
The second title — BrokenLore: ASCEND — is another first-person psychological horror about two Japanese urban climbers, Ren and Yui. Their channel, SKYLIMIT, rose to fame with daring rooftop ascents, but their pursuit of notoriety pushes them to attempt a dangerous stunt: scaling Japan’s tallest tower, the Elysium Tower, under the cover of night. The release is planned for summer 2026.
