Ridley Scott Finds Screenwriter for New Film That May Continue the Prometheus and Alien: Covenant Story

Ridley Scott has teamed up again with the creator of Raised by Wolves.

The sequel to Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, which Scott discussed back in August, is slowly taking shape. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aaron Guzikowski will write the script for the new film set in the Alien universe. Guzikowski previously worked with Scott on the series Raised by Wolves and is also known for Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners. Scott will produce alongside Michael Pruss through their company, Scott Free.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the android David, played by Michael Fassbender, may serve as the link to the two prequels. That fits with Scott’s earlier statements that David will set about creating a “brave new world” for himself. Other plot details and a release window have not been disclosed. The film does not yet have a director, and the script has still to be written.

A sequel to Alien: Romulus also remains in development. Earlier reports claimed that Fede Álvarez had left the director’s chair on the sequel over disagreements with Scott about David’s future. That version has not been officially confirmed, and 20th Century Studios has already denied rumors that the film was canceled.
