Crimson Desert Charting the Unknown Expansion Will Add Sea Monsters and Ship Boarding, Details Revealed
The developers have prepared a large amount of new content.
Crimson Desert Enhanced will soon receive Charting the Unknown, a large premium expansion. Will Powers of Pearl Abyss appeared on the Dropped Frames podcast and shared several details about the upcoming DLC.
Players must finish the main story before they can start the story lines for Cliff and other characters in the DLC. These stories will not be connected to each other. They were written by a new writer who previously worked on the enhanced version of the main story.
The ability to build fleets, settlements, and castles unlocks after Chapter 3. The naval part of Charting the Unknown includes boarding mechanics, ocean exploration, and encounters with “big scary” sea monsters. The developers will add underwater environments along the coastline. Some lakes and ponds from the base game will receive similar improvements.
Powers also warned players not to expect weekly updates after the DLC launches. Pearl Abyss will continue to release large free patches.
Charting the Unknown for Crimson Desert Enhanced can be added to your Steam wishlist. The expansion is scheduled to release on October 30, 2026, on PC and consoles.
