Kaiju No. 8 Anime to Conclude With Feature Film, First Poster Released
Production I.G is handling production again.
The team behind the Kaiju No. 8 anime has announced that the story’s final chapter will arrive as a feature-length film. They also released a first poster with the tagline “The era of humanity is ending.” The illustration was created by Shinji Kimura, who worked as the series’ art director:

The film will complete the adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto’s manga. It follows Kafka Hibino, who never achieved his childhood dream of joining Japan’s Self-Defense Forces. After he unexpectedly turns into a kaiju, he gets a second chance to prove he can protect humanity.
Production I.G will produce the film. Shigeyuki Miya, who worked on the second season, will direct.
The feature-length finale is scheduled for a Japanese premiere in 2027. The exact release date and the timing of its international release have not yet been announced.
