Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition Receives Overwhelmingly Negative Reviews on Steam
Many players did not like the updated version.
Developer Creative Assembly and SEGA recently announced the release of Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition. This new version of the grand strategy game is positioned as an “updated, improved, and most complete” edition of TWS 2. However, players are quick to disagree.
The game received “Overwhelmingly Negative” reviews, holding an 18% rating after more than 1,500 reviews. The game’s rating dropped so sharply that it broke into the top 100 worst-rated projects on Steam by user score, landing in 80th place between Despair and Richman 11.
Dissatisfied users point out technical issues, noting that bugs from the original remain alongside graphical glitches and balance complaints. Some users accuse the developers of using AI technology.

Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition includes all previously released add-ons, including the Rise of the Samurai and Fall of the Samurai campaigns. It also features improved graphics, lighting, shadows, and textures, alongside UI scaling for 1440p and 4K resolutions, modernized controls, 64-bit system support, and other enhancements.
