The horror film directed by the filmmaker behind Logan remains in development.

DC Studios continues work on the Swamp Thing movie. Studio co-chairman Peter Safran shared this update in an interview with Deadline at the premiere of Clayface. According to him, the script is still being written, and production timelines depend largely on the director’s availability:

“We are working on it. Absolutely. The script is being written right now. And you know, all of that takes time. Especially once a director is already attached, you still have to wait for them to have free time in their schedule.”

James Mangold, known for Logan and Ford v Ferrari, serves as the writer and director of Swamp Thing. He is currently working on the motorcycle racing film High Side starring Timothée Chalamet.

Swamp Thing was announced back in January 2023 alongside other projects in the first wave of the new DC cinematic universe, which is being created by James Gunn and Peter Safran. However, the creators have not yet announced the cast, filming start date, or release schedule.
