Tom Cruise calls for unity ahead of the World Cup final
Hollywood icon and “Mission: Impossible” star Tom Cruise made a special appearance at the FIFA World Cup final.
Ahead of the showdown between Spain and Argentina in New York, Cruise took a moment to express his gratitude to the passionate fans gathered to support their respective nations.
“As we gather here for this final chapter, let’s celebrate a tournament that has brought the world together. Let’s celebrate one another. This is football. This is unity. This is greatness,”
— Cruise declared. The match concluded with a 1-0 victory for Spain, marking the nation’s second World Cup title, following their previous triumph in 2010.
Looking ahead, Cruise is set to return to the big screen this autumn in “Digger,” the upcoming comedy directed by Academy Award winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu, known for “Birdman” and “The Revenant.”
