Once again it’s time to step into the world of Warhammer 40,000, learn the lingua-technis, and bow before the Machine God — cosplayer AKUMURA has assumed the role of a Tech-Priestess of the Adeptus Mechanicus.
Cosplayer AKUMURA transported herself into the brutal universe of Warhammer 40,000 to honor the Omnissiah, explore forbidden technologies, and shield the Imperium from lethal threats.
During the shoot by photographer Pavel “Leno” Grishin, the model donned the garb of a Tech-Priestess from the Adeptus Mechanicus — the technocratic order often called the Priesthood of Mars.
Tech-Priests regard organic flesh as weak and imperfect, striving instead to replace it with augmetics — cybernetic enhancements — to gain greater efficiency and draw nearer to the Machine God.
Within the Cult of the Mechanicus, knowledge is regarded as the highest form of divinity; thus, all beings and technologies that embody knowledge are consecrated. A person’s value is measured by their knowledge — the body is merely an organic vessel for the mind.
Members of the Adeptus Mechanicus venerate the Emperor as the earthly incarnation of the Machine God, govern Forge Worlds — planets blanketed by foundries and factories — service intricate machines, and relentlessly seek out ancient technologies.
