The Sims 2 Modding Community Bans Vibe-Coded Mods to Protect Players
Many of the new mods turned out to be of very questionable quality.
The Sims 2 life simulator has been supported with mods for many years. Recently, however, some enthusiasts have started using vibe coding (programming with the help of artificial intelligence) to create mods.
Moderators in the The Sims 2 community decided to ban such mods:
Mods created with vibe coding are of low quality and are no longer allowed. Regularly posting such mods will lead to a ban. This includes CC (Custom Content) for The Sims 2.
They do not object, however, when a developer uses AI as a tool:
Mods and CC created with vibe coding are NOT the same as mods developed with AI as a supporting tool. The difference is that in the second case, the developer does the work and uses AI as a tool. We will not ban real developers for using AI at certain stages of the work.

Community members who want to share large mods that significantly change The Sims 2 must now apply for “modder” status first:
We require regular modders who do not use [vibe coding] to confirm that they really make their mods themselves. This is necessary to protect the community.
Projects built with vibe coding can contain various bugs, such as memory leaks. The “author” may be unable to fix them because they do not understand programming or the generated code. In the source article’s view, that gives this approach to filtering mods a certain logic.
