The Punisher Reveals a Major Flaw in Marvel’s Streaming Strategy

Before his highly anticipated arrival in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Frank Castle has staged a gritty comeback via a new Marvel Special Presentation. Punisher: One Last Kill transcends typical studio fare, delivering a relentless, high-octane assault that balances bone-crunching action with moments of profound, somber reflection on the tragic existence of its protagonist, played with raw intensity by Jon Bernthal.

This special serves as more than a simple reintroduction for the iconic vigilante. It stands as the most effective application of the Marvel Special Presentation format to date—a creative tool that Marvel Studios has largely neglected in favor of increasingly overstuffed and meandering streaming series.
