The developers are steadily moving closer to release.

Developer RedRuins Softworks and publisher HypeTrain Digital recently shared a new update on Canyons by publishing a trailer featuring gameplay footage.

The creators position Canyons as a cooperative third-person PvE shooter that supports solo play or groups of up to four players.

The developers of Canyons will let players take control of giant Crawlers, build settlements, and conquer a harsh procedurally generated world filled with animated creatures, insane fanatics, and other pleasant things:

A world once full of water, life, and developing technologies has fallen to the Awakes! A fusion of the living and the non-living. No one knows where they came from, but their power is growing… From the ruins of the old world, a new force was born: the Order of the Double Cross. Armed with unwavering faith and relics of the past, the Crusaders learned to forge Sacred Blood Pacts with especially powerful Awakes and take control of their mysterious power. Now the fate of the world depends solely on the warriors of the Order and their allies!

You can add Canyons to your Steam wishlist by following this link. The game does not have a specific release date yet, though the launch is scheduled for November 2027. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Notably, Canyons was promoted as an extraction project up until a certain point. Over time, its market positioning changed.
