“The Perfect Addition”: Free-to-Play The Finals Adds Denuvo to Help Developers Fight Cheaters

Denuvo is not just the notorious DRM solution — the company also actively fights cheating players.

Embark Studios has detailed an update for The Finals. The free-to-play shooter will bolster its protections using Denuvo’s anti-cheat technology.

The developers of The Finals will deploy Denuvo AntiCheat; according to them, it:

…has proven to be an ideal complement to our existing toolset. Deployment will begin with this release and is expected to finish by the end of next week. Anybrain, which we mentioned earlier, will also join our ever-growing set of anti-cheat tools. We’ve spent significant effort addressing gamepad spoofing (where a player using keyboard and mouse tricks the system into believing they’re on a controller), and this release improves our ability to detect it.
