Ubisoft surprised fans on Tuesday by announcing that the next chapter in the Assassin’s Creed saga is taking an unexpected turn—moving from gaming consoles directly to the stage. Following the July launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the franchise will debut Heredis, a unique theatrical production.
Described by Ubisoft in an Instagram announcement as an “original live show,” Heredis aims to blend theatrical drama with athleticism, weaving together elements of parkour, acrobatics, and historical narrative. The storyline follows a protagonist named Naël on a desperate search for his vanished father, a journey that the show’s official website notes will force him and his allies to navigate trials across diverse historical eras.
While the connection to the core Assassins versus Templars conflict remains unclear, the developers have confirmed that audiences don’t need any prior knowledge of the franchise to appreciate the performance. You can leave your deep dive into Isu lore at the door.
The Creed takes the stage. ⚔️…

The production is being spearheaded by the acclaimed Canadian theater troupe The 7 Fingers. The cast will push physical boundaries, incorporating high-stakes urban parkour, intricate combat choreography, and various athletic feats to bring the world of the Creed to life.
Heredis is slated for a world premiere in Montreal this December for a limited engagement, followed by a transfer to Paris in January 2027, where it will run through early February. Tickets are currently available for those looking to secure a seat.
This venture marks yet another step for the brand beyond the digital realm. A decade after the live-action feature film, and with a Netflix adaptation currently in the works, Assassin’s Creed continues to expand its footprint. Meanwhile, Ubisoft maintains a robust pipeline of future game titles, though further release dates beyond Black Flag Resynced have yet to be disclosed.
