The longest-running sci-fi series officially returns to streaming in three weeks

For nearly a year, U.S. fans of Doctor Who have faced a frustrating gap in their streaming libraries. According to a report from Collider, the long wait is finally over. Starting June 11, the entirety of the 2005–2022 revival—comprising 176 episodes and a wealth of specials—will be available to stream on AMC+.

This collection spans the eras of Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, and Whittaker. However, please note that this library does not include the original 1963–1989 classic series, the 60th-anniversary specials, or the latest episodes currently housed on Disney+. For those looking to secure access, AMC+ is currently offering an annual subscription discount of $29.99, though this promotion expires on May 25.

While the fragmented nature of Doctor Who streaming continues, this move is a significant win for longtime enthusiasts and newcomers alike. It restores nearly two decades of essential sci-fi history and provides an accessible entry point for those wanting to experience the show from the 2005 reboot, “Rose,” rather than diving straight into the most recent chapters.

Every era of the modern revival holds its own distinct charm. Eccleston’s run provided a gritty, emotional foundation, while Matt Smith’s whimsical, bowtie-clad Eleventh Doctor catapulted the series into global pop-culture dominance.
