The Legend of Zelda’s Best Amiibo Finally Arrives This Month

Back in May, coinciding with the third anniversary of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo revealed an upcoming amiibo figurine slated for release this month. It easily stands out as one of the most impressive collectibles inspired by the game to date. Unless a surprise announcement drops during this week’s Zelda-focused Nintendo Direct, this piece is a definitive contender for figurine of the year.

The upcoming Mineru’s Construct amiibo hits store shelves on September 17. It is a remarkably substantial piece, faithfully capturing the ancient Zonai automaton originally wielded by the Sage of Spirit, Mineru, and later reconstructed and operated by Link during the narrative’s climax.

Most importantly, the figure features fully articulated, adjustable limbs. Nintendo highlights its versatility, encouraging collectors to experiment and “try making it pose in a way that looks good to you.”

True to tradition, scanning the Mineru’s Construct figure using your Nintendo Switch’s NFC scanner grants access to valuable in-game resources. Most notably, players have the opportunity to acquire an exclusive paraglider fabric adorned with Mineru’s Construct aesthetics and luminescent details.

While the exact reasoning behind releasing this specific amiibo nearly three years after the initial launch—and a full year after the rumored Switch 2 iteration of Tears of the Kingdom—remains a mystery, it is worth noting that the mere existence of the Construct itself acts as a massive late-game spoiler for the adventure.

Looking ahead, Nintendo is also scheduled to launch a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time later this year, followed by the franchise’s monumental transition to cinema in 2027 with the live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda.
