Director Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow) is developing a separate continuation of the 2024 action film Road House, Deadline reports.
Liman has secured the production rights for a sequel that will be titled Road House: Dylan. Plot details have not been disclosed.
Separately, Amazon MGM is preparing another take on Road House starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Dave Bautista, with Ilya Naishuller (Nobody) set to direct. No release date has been announced.
The original Road House was released in 1989 and followed a bouncer (Patrick Swayze) in a corrupt town. Liman directed the remake starring Gyllenhaal but later publicly criticized Amazon’s leadership for opting not to release the film theatrically. The movie premiered on Prime Video in March 2024 and was viewed by 50 million people within two weeks.
